I was a party of one, attending a conference on the Lakeside grounds. The room I had, 526, was a very nice room, with a quiet air conditioner. It was nicely appointed, with a very comfortable bed. It did not have a television, which I didn't really have time to watch anyway. The hotel has more than ample space for relaxing on the porch and watching the lake. The breakfast was excellent, served as a buffet. For this relaxing and comfortable setting, I'll return again and again.
Outstanding location and venue. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. The food was amazing and delicious. As a performer I’m in spaces all over the United States so I am used to experiencing all levels of quality. Hotel Lakeside is in my top ten of amazing historic lake resort hotels. Everything is well maintained and you could not have more pleasant staff.
Loved the location and stay, the hotel itself has its unique history. The receptionist Koby was cheerful and helped me with whatever I needed. Recommend everyone to live here once in a lifetime.
My friend booked this for our girls weekend so I will start with that. This hotel is very old and needs some work. The tub smelled like mildew, the caulking needed redone, there were stains under the AC, stains on the floor and the beds are quite old. The rooms are very small IMO especially if there’s more than two people. Just know that going into it and if that’s okay with you, then you will be good to go! However, there are positives. The location is amazing, the screened in porch was wonderful, the pier area was a plus, and the overall outside grounds were great. The food at the restaurant was good and we enjoyed Eula as our waitress both times.
Beautiful old hotel. Needs a little TLC, but the room was large and the king size bed was very comfortable.
we had a great time! everyone was very nice and caring. also loved the breakfast vouchers so we could eat outside of the hotel too (delicious breakfast at lakeside though). special shoutout to Yena! you are amazing, we loved meeting you!!
Lovely hotel with a ton of history. Built in 1885! I wonder if it’s haunted… reason for not 5 stars is because I came to the 3rd floor to drop off something for my friend and I noticed they keep a folding mattress and other random things in the hallway. I feel like that should be in a storage unit instead…
A beautiful 150 year old hotel, anchoring one end of Lakeside, OH. Called the Chautauqua of Ohio it presents a timeless almost "Meet Me in St. Louis" nostalgia. Not fancy, but comfy within its limitations.
